| NIC Kollam District Unit | |

The National
Informatics Centre, Kollam district unit made its presence in
the year 1987.The initial test was to train the district officials
in making use of the IT tools. For this purpose, NIC was backed
by the whole-hearted co-operation of the then District Collector
who made possible the extensive training programme for the staff
and the officers of various departments.

The Programme was carried out
for months and the training was imparted in batches. From
the interesting feedback via the staff and the District Collector,
the said programme was a success in generating awareness among the
staff regarding the potential of computers and its communications
and networking capabilities in the day-to-day office work. |

district successfully. Monthly targets (sub registrar wise) for stamp duty and registration fee data entry and text file transactions. |

filing of cases, daily proceedings, order generation, copying, office
establishment works and reports are generated from the system. The payroll package has been implemented. |

A
Complete database on School general Information, 6th working day
statistics of students, 15th July statistics of teachers and financial
data statistics are maintained here for each academic/financial
year. Various other reports are also generating for the Education
department. |

MP
(Member of Parliament Local Area Scheme has been computerised to
monitor the works under the planning department. |

and statistics department is sending market commodity price details

Providing all support for the Computerisation activities
of Health department. |

Information
System for maintaining a database on consumer and equipment's details
and monitoring collection of inspection fee. |

We
are providing all support for the implementation and monitoring
of 'AGMARKNET' project. |

District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) |
We
are providing all technical support for their Computerisation work.
Also the block level computerisation work started. |
